I would like to tell about Russia,it is my native country.Foreigners often have about Russia, its people,a life customs and about its culture very remote representation. For example,in consciousness of foreigners Russian culture is impossible wihtout a nested doll,of a balalaika,of a accordion,of national suits,of chastooshkas,of a song'A guelder-rore-a raspberry'.Frequently the image of the Russian life in general gets comical character. For example, some foreigners think that the culture of Russia is strongly connected with Russian vodka, but it is not so,the culture of my country is various and great.Russia is the most reading country in the world. If you go down in the underground or you will pass around the city on pablic transport that can see the people of diffrent age who is reading some books. The Russian literature it is property of the whole world.Such writers as A.P.Chehov,A.S.Pushkin,L.N.Tolstoiy,F.M.Dostoevskiy and many other is geniuses of the world classics.Fans of classical music well known Russian composes, their amasing music it is often possible to hear by the American radio.Russian theatre and Russian ballet take a special place in thise list,it is pride of me country. It is enough to arrive in St.Petersburg or Moscow that selves eyes to see riches and beauty of architecture and also art masterpieces in galleries and museums. All it was created by Russian people.Russian people very hospitable, you can arrive to any place of my huge country and everywhere Russian will meet you with bread and salt.It is custom Russian people. In my country money is not main thing.Foreigners often discuss about 'mysterious Russian soul',and it is simple to understand,it is magnanimity,hospitality,self-sacrifice,respect for seniors and huge love to their native land. One more tradition exists, almost each city family has the small or big house and a small ground in the country. There is a garden,a kitchen garden where they grow up vegetables and fruit for the winter there. There is a Russian bath which is warmed with fire wood as before hundreds years ago.Every Friday families go on to their summer residences have a rest with the friends and their neighbors and work too.I have no friends in America.People do not visit to each other. If you come someone without a phone call, nobody will open a door to you.In my country it always will be opened to you.It not be pleasant to me in America that women can come in a pablic place in a dirty or fragmentary T-shirt,in Russia the women very exact, and guys never go with lowered pants. It is not pleasant to me that American women do tattoo.I be pleasant in America modern architecture,an order and cleanliness on the streets. There are many traditious and an customs in the world, but culture of the country where you has grown always will be nativer and closer to your heart.

What’s interesting about Egypt’s culture is that is more than 6000 years old and later influenced cultures of Europe, Middle East and Asia. Egyptian culture gave a lot to the world through mathematics, art and great inventions. My favorite things about my culture are the Pyramids of Giza and the time of the Pharaoh. That is what Egypt is known for in the world and a lot of tourists come to see the pyramids, it is actually one of the seven wonders. Well in our culture at dinner it is normal to leave some food over otherwise the people will think that the person is hungry, same goes for tea it is best to leave some at the end of the glass. In American culture they have no shame when it comes to clothes. They are very direct and open. One culture that is kind of same like Egyptian is the Persian Culture. My best friend is Persian and our families get along well. In Egyptian culture the most important value is family and honor. It is important to listen to your parents and respect them. At same time you have to keep the honor of the family by not doing something bad like for girls dating guys before marriage is disrespectful to the family and breaks the honor of the family, but in general I am proud to be Egyptian because of our history and culture, there is no country that can replace Egypt for me even if my country is not perfect I will always have Egyptian pride.

First of all, I will make known that I am from Romania. I my opinion the most important thing in Romanian culture is hospitality. Rumanians are a people who are happy to receive guests. When Romanians have guests, they offer the best food and accommodated them in the most beautiful room. In Romanian culture youth respect for the elderly is greatly appreciated. In contrast, it is very rude for a wife to interrupt her husband, when he has a discussion. I can’t make a very exhaustive assessments about American culture, because I'm new here. Honestly, what surprised me very much to this college was to see that there are many students from the former Soviet Union. Many Russian-speaking students. Talking about American culture, a very good thing is that American society is very open to immigrants. In general, different people’s cultures have many similarities. The differences are few. These differences identify them as people of a country. Actually we are a unity in diversity. And that is not a nonsense. It is a beautiful thing. We can live in peace even if we differ. I'm glad that I'm part of a global nation. And I am also proud to be part of Romanian culture

I am from Iran Tehran .I lived there for 4 years before I come to Sacramento. There are many differences between Iran and USA. One differences in the new years. Each item a special symbol and starts with the(S) sound in the Iranian language .Most people celebrate the new years for thirteen days. Modern Ukraine culture has a lot of similar with Russia and Belarusian cultures. These cultures original came from Kievan Rus, but during 13-th century they split out. Ukraine culture similar to Eastern Europe spatially on West Ukraine on the east close to Russian culture. Religion takes important part of culture its Orthodox Christianity and Eastern Christianity. Orthodox Church is the largest in the country. I like in Ukraine culture wedding. Wedding traditionally take place in Church, the bride in white and the groom in black. Wedding sometimes takes a days or a week. Usually drinking, eating, and dancing whit lovely music. Before wedding groom and his friends come to the bride’s house and bargains whit some money to get bride from her family. After that they went to church than when they living the church bride carried a basket with candies and throw to the children and they crowd. The groom carried her from any stairs. However the bride danced with each unmarried women to present and place a veil on each of them that mean she hopes they get married soon. She also throws her veil to the girls and who will catch she will next to married. I like my culture and I don’t see anything rude, nice people, nice history and old history. When I came to US I was happy to meet people from different countries and to learn those cultures and some new ideas.

Ukraine culture is different from others and very interesting. Every holiday has its own tradition. My favorite holiday in Ukraine is Christmas! People living in Ukraine celebrate this holiday for three days, they are: January seventh, eighth and ninth. This big holiday usually starts in the late night of January sixth-it is called the “Holly Night”. In order to fulfill the culture’s tradition, we should gather all the family together. So, my parents took me and my brother to our grandparents to the village they were raised in. My grandma usually cooked a lot of food for that event, which included twelve nonfat dishes: they shouldn’t contain meat, mayonnaise or eggs in it. There were dishes made with fish, cabbage and mushrooms. But the main holiday dish was “Kutya”. It was made with wheat, honey, poppy seeds, walnut and water. At night, on January sixth all relatives gathered in the grandparents’ house. Grandpa put the dry hay under the kitchen table, everyone was praying and after that, took their seats. Every person should start dinner with the tradition dish first, then they could eat the rest that they desire. After dinner is over, the family prays again and leaves the kitchen. There was a holly church serving forthcoming. Later, after the traditional family dinner, everyone leaves to the church for the whole night. It was so beautiful outside: freezing, the street lights were bright and the snow was falling. Everyone was so excited because it was Christmas! The church service finished at seven in the morning. People were greeting each other on the way back home. That morning, people have a “holly breakfast” and any food they would like, but the main traditional dish was on the kitchen table for three days. People invited everyone to their houses and greeted each other warmly, everyone was excited and in a wonderful mood. At night some people wear holiday costumes such as an angel, a devil, etc…., they go to every house and sing holiday songs, worshiping God. This part is called “Vertep”. This is how my family and I celebrated the biggest and merriest holiday in Ukraine.

I’m from a different culture and I grew in a different country, so coming here and see many huge differences was surprising for me. I love my culture because all my relatives and friends are there. I like it also because people are very nice and friendly. In the U.S. people are ruder they say hello to you they smile to you but they don’t care about you, they only pretend they are but they aren’t. For me when I came to college was surprising that I have the feeling of being in my native country because I hear many words and remember many customs from my native culture. One interesting thing about my culture is that people are always very optimists, no matter what is in their souls they live with today’s day, and I think this is very good because there are less hearts attacks and less high blood tension. I don’t know about important values, but there are a lot of customs and holydays people work a lot but they relax also a lot. It’s like a balance between those two factors.

In each country there are a lot of different and interesting things about each culture, and in my country we have them as well. I like my country for having simple but yet important customs. Mostly in my country we have a lot of fun and interesting customs on holidays, like Easter, Christmas, New Year, and Thanksgiving. Each holiday has its own customs. The most I like about our culture it's the way we celebrate Thanksgiving. We celebrate Thanksgiving in the middle of October, when people are done harvesting fruits and vegetables. Usually on Sunday people would gather in churches all around the country, but before that, on Saturday youth would bring all kinds of fruits and vegetables, big and small, sour and sweet, and put it on a display in front of church alter. They would also decorate the church inside with leaves, and all kinds of autumn colors, and wheat grains. On Sunday all people would gather and give thanks to God for giving and blessing their homes for food and blessing their harvest. After church youth would usually gather and eat and drink in celebration, and have a lot of singing and communication. I really liked the way we celebrated because I always had a lot of fun and thanksgiving to God.

I want to talk about the Interesting Chinese Holidays. There are many Chinese holidays throughout the year and most have their own special celebration food. Because Chinese holidays are based on the lunar calendar, the date on the Gregorian calendar changes from one year to the next. For millions of Asians, Chinese New Year is more than one special day. Families spend weeks preparing for the big event by cleaning their houses, decorating doors and windows with red paper. We also cook special foods, such as sweet sticky rice cakes and salty radish cakes. Celebrations for Chinese New York, also called the Spring Festival, last a full fifteen days. The last fifteen day is Lantern Festival is traditionally a day for lovers. Second, Ching Ming Festival is on April 5. Also called The Tomb Sweeping festival is a time for families to honor the memory of their ancestors. We also perform standard gravesite maintenance such as removing debris from the gravestones and replacing dead flowers with fresh ones. The family members offer gifts of food, fruit and wine to the departed. After a formal ceremony, the food is shared among family members. Another tradition is to burn incense to ward off any evil spirits that may be lurking. Third, Dragon Boat Festival is on May 31.The Dragon Boat Festival is China’s oldest festival, the sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves that are an essential feature of any Dragon Boat Festival celebration. Fourth, Chinese Valentine’s Day on July 30 is the legend of star-crossed lovers Niu Lang and Zhi Nu. Fifth, Hungry Ghost Festival is August 8. According to Chinese legend, every year ghost are allowed to leave hell and return to earth for one month so people have to offer gifts of food, fruit and wine to the hungry ghost and burn special money for them to insure they do not bother your family. Sixth, Mid-Autumn Moon cake Festival is on October 6. When the moon is at its maximum brightness for the entire year, the Chinese celebrate “zhong qiu jie.” Children are told the story of the moon fairy living in a crystal palace, which comes out to dance on the moon’s shadowed surface. The legend is about surrounding the “lady living in the moon”. The last is called Double Ninth Day. Elder’s Day is on October 30. Chinese believe nine is a lucky number, because the words “nine” and “long” are same meaning. The government has designated this as a day for youth to honor the elderly.I really enjoy all holidays with my family.

I was born in a small town In Moldova.I lived there for 37 years and then I moved to the U.S. In my town In my town every family had a house. We all knew each others very well, especially our neighbors. I really like my old community because It was very friendly and we all helped each other when needed.I remember all my neighbors that I had. Some of them are not in life but I still remember them. When i moved to the united states, I first lived in an Apartment and I didn't like it very much because it was small and boring. My neighbors were from different countries and we could not communicate with each other. The new neighborhood was unfamiliar at first but then I got used to it and I like it. But I think the old neighborhood was still better to live for me.

I like my country. I am from Belarus. The Belorussian people are very friendly. We celebrate many holidays like New Year, Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, March 8 and many others... In my country are many art exhibitions, musical and theatrical festivals. Belarusian cuisine includes various dishes from a flour, groats, vegetables, a potato, meat and milk. Traditional meal of Belorussians is fritters from a rye, wheaten, buckwheat flour. Belorussian people know more than 200 dishes from a potato — baked, fried, stewed, mashed potatoes, pancakes, fritters, soup, puddings, pies and ....Now I live in America. There are also a lot of an interesting but I like my culture. Belarus is a beautiful, stylish, picturesque and quiet country.

I’m from Korea and I like my countries culture. I like American culture too. In my culture we still keep to the traditions we have had for thousands of years. For example, young people always listen to and pay high respect to adults and to those that are older then you. When you see older people you have to bow your body in a 45 degree angle in sign of respect. Also, I like New Year celebration. In the morning all families go to the mountains and pay respect and visit our relatives and grand parent’s grave. The other thing that is interesting is the full moon celebration. It is every year October 15th. It is like Thanksgiving. We have a big celebration that last for 3 whole days. In the morning all of the family goes to the mountains and visits the gravesites of our relatives. After that we party. We have a lot of games and play around all day, eat, drink, sing and dance. In our tradition we have a lot of respect for our school teachers. The teacher is highly respected and liked very much and we obey almost everything they say. This is very different than in the United States. I was surprised how the state and the students treat teachers. I also like American culture too. New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas have a different meaning and sometimes not accepted or recognized in Korea. We all come from different countries. They are all always interesting to me.

I was born in Ukraine. Ukraine is a beautiful and interesting country, and our culture is very different then American culture.Traditions and customs vary regionally within Ukraine. There are significant culture differences between city and vllage, West and East Ukraine. National traditions are like a heart of the national culture. They ddetermine the way people live: their language, religious belief, life values, social relationships, material goods-food, clothing, buildings, tools, etc. People in Ukraine are very friendly. When they walking down the street they don't usually smile too much, but very soon you will realize that an ability to form warm informal relationships is the main feature of the Ukrainian national character. Relatives in Ukraine are also very frendly. In Ukrainian custom that grandparents play a great role in raising children. They say:"Children are our future". They try to do their best to bring their children up as decent people. Also Ukrainians are well known for their hospitality. They love to invite people to their homes or to visit their friends or relatives. Tradditional Ukraine customs are to put all the best food on the table and to feed the geest once he entered their home. Ukrainian parties are not about food only. It is a long process with plenty of eating, drinking. and conversation. Also, what i really like traditional Ukrainian cuisine because it is rich of natural ingredients. I will always remember taste of tomatoes, cocumbers, lettuce, apples, grapes, peaches grown in te famouse fertile Ukrainian soil. Finally i would like to write about our holidays.Ukrainian celebrate a number of holidays, namely Christmas, Easter, New Year, Ivana Kupala, Women Day(March 8), and others. In Ukraine we also hold a festival every autum to celebrate the end of the harvest. I think Ukrainian culture is very interesting and there is so much to say,but it cannot be discussed fully here. The best way to find out more is to visit the country and lern from the locals.

In my country we have many beautiful and interesting holidays. I would like to tell about “Vardavar”.”Vardavar is celebrated 98 days after Easter, usually between 28 July to August 28. It is an interesting meeting of cultural pagan rituals that has been meshed with Christian tradition. Vardavar is the most loved of all Armenia’s festivals. The word “vardavar” has two interpretations based on two pagan goddesses were worshipped: Astgheek or Anaheet. Astgheek was the goddess of love and beauty. Since “vart” means “rose” in Armenia, a correlation was made between this holiday and Astgheek. According to legend, her beloved Vahagn was once injured. She rushed barefoot to his aid. On the way, she hurt her feet while treading over the roses and her blood turned them red. This is how red roses came into being: the flower of love was born. On the other hand Anaheet was the goddess of purity, kindness. She was identified with water, as a cleansing agent. The ritual splashing water was believed to be means of driving away evil. This holiday was the only family holiday, when all the relatives would travel long distance to spend a day together. The gifts they presented to each other expressed their love and devotion. So today, be prepared to get doused with water. It is the one day in the year when children and teenagers throw water over each other. Everybody waters, no matter you want it or not. A group of children come up to you running and pour pails of water over you. You are confused and do not know what to do. The only thing to do is just smile and laugh. For children this is the most expected and favorite holidays in the year. On that day the people are friendly and kind.In my country we have many beautiful and interesting holidays. My original country is Russia. Russian culture has o lot of interesting traditions. I crowed up in Soviet Russia and know about differences between Soviet Russia and Post-Soviet Russia. In the Soviet Russia was more job and education opportunities but unfortunately there was a limited of freedom and could know about true and a lot of them had to right to visit some other countries and know their culture. But Russian culture has a rich history and Russian people try to keep it a long of many years. And after Communism ideology was can like as a major factor in the culture of the Soviet Union,Russian people recalled many Slavic traditions such us:Russian folklore, icon painting. And also there was reconstructed and bailed lot of Slavic churches in the Post-Soviet Russia. Also Russians can proud of the most most famous and greatest poets in and writers such as Pushkin,Lomonosov,Lermontov,Nekrasov, Gogol. Also in the classic music are a lot of world famous composers:Shostakovich,Glinka. I like the Russian culture and proud a lot of Russian great famous people. There ara several public holidays in Russia. Some of them are came like in America such as New Year day or Valentine day. There is international Women's day that celebrating on march 8.I like that holiday most in Russia traditions. That day is symbol of the spring. There are a lot of women with the flowers on the streets and theirs husbands and boyfriends give them presents. And everything became alive in the nature after a long winter. The most likely holidays for the Russian people is New Year day.Russians celebrate the New Year with a big amplitude and have a nine days off from the work. There are many traditional popular festivals in those days and people visit their relatives and friends without invitations and give them presents. The Russian culture is very rich and interesting. And American has a lot of famous and great people who did the American culture rich.

I'm from Moldova, it's a small country in Eastern Europe, located in between Romania and Ukraine. In fact Moldovan and Romanian culture are very similar, because we have the same origins, and it's only last century that separated us in two different countries. We speak the same language, have similar customs and traditions, like mamaliga, sarmale, hora, doinas, and very welcoming people.

Iran is located in Southwestern Asia. The major language in Iran, formerly Persia, is Farsi. Aside from Iran, Farsi is spoken in Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Persian culture is very old. Iranians have a lot of good behaviors. They have good hospitality, respect to parents and older people. They have more responsibility about their family. Iranians are very social. Families are very close-knitted. New Year is the most important holiday for Iranians. Our New Year starts on the first day of Spring. We celebrate it for fifteen days. All of the schools and universities are close. Most of the people have a lot of fun with their family. For New Year, we should visit older people such as grandparents. They give money to us. In our culture, we set up a presentation on a table cloth with seven items. The name of the presentation is call sofry hafsen. The seven items all start with the letter "s", such as sieb (apple), somagh (sumac), serka (vinegar), seka (coin), samanu (fruit), sabze (greenery), and ser(garlic). Thirteen days after New Year, we go outside. The name of this day is call sezdabadur. It is like a picnic. All the streets are crowded for sezdabadur. People have big

In the U.S. all people came from different palaces that they have different cultures. These cultures show to other nationals how is each country civilization from beginning until so far.I am from Iran and my country has so many cultures among the people it is mean every city has different culture, food, dress even language.I think so these are all symbol of God’s power. Also we have some cultures that are similar in our country it is mean not specific to each city. One of the interesting thing in my culture is the Norooz and I like it very much because it is the ancient culture.Norooz is the first day of the Persian year and the national festival of Iran. This name call for the new year’s day and it is so specific for the Persian.Norooz start from the first of spring to continue 13th.tow week before the Norooz person start to clean their house and prepare for the Norooz. They go to buy something for the Norooz days.During the old year time change to the new year time Persian make special napery with seven items that start with sound “s” and start to pray for to own good year. After start the new year younger people in the relative first go to visit the older people to tell them happy new year and the older people give them present like cash money.this is very popular among the children. At the end of the Norooz which is 13 Persian belive that day is not lucky for them if they stay at home and they should go outside because if they want to stay at home something bad will happen for them.I like the Persian culture specially Norooz and I know most of Persian agree with me.

I like Russian culture because it reflects the state of the Russian soul. I really like Russian folk music. Russian people have flexible, reliable and kind character. Thats why Russian songs are lingering, melodic, melancholy. This songs are have sang without any musical instruments. Many years ago our grandmothers sang those kind of songs when they were outside talking with other grandmothers. Well I know that in America there is one good place that I know is "Fort Ross". It reminds me of Russian old native culture. And they still celebrate all kind of Russian holidays. Also in Russian culture has a lot of folk crafts as making dolls, clay toys, utensils made of wood. Clothing decoration, embroidery are also really important in Russian culture. Russian holidays that we celebrate is first day of spring as carnival, easter. On those holidays they bake pancakes and try to forget old grievances that they did. We are the Russian people should take care of our Russian culture and the need to teach our children to remember their roots. Because some parents have their children doesn't know Russian culture and language. And if we are not going to remember our own culture we'll never have future. What we got from our parents, we must pass on to our children that they valued the Russian heritage so that could also transmit it to our children. And that they were proud of their ancestors.

Each culture is defined by law and persons living in this country. And some life in this country dictates what culture to be.In Russian culture people can be polite, rude and friendly.I can not say what culture is better or worth, because different country has different mentality. In every country there are many good and bad things. When I went to another country I have nothing is not surprising in this country, when I learned a little about the law and order in this country. And people are different what one country have what another.I believe that the good qualities in American culture is that the sides do not come close to each other.People here are all treated with understanding. No one will say what you are doing wrong. The people only can give advise. The store salespeople are very polite.I like to live here.

I'm from Ukraine and my culture is very interesting and full of the diversified customs. Slavic culture is the most amazing culture in the world. The way how we celebrate holidays, how we cook for holidays and how we decorate our houses and property is the very interesting way to celebrate holidays. Tradition of celebrate holidays is different for every holiday and each one has their own customs and decoration. I like most about my culture the way how we celebrate every holiday .I like most about my culture thee way how we celebrate Christmas and New Year. In Ukraine we celebrate Christmas in January seventh and New Year like every one in the world. Christmas time is the most wonderful time for every one. For this holiday we have special traditions. For example, the night before Christmas is the Holy Night when children with their parents go to closest relatives to say them that "Christ was born!" For Holy Night we have twelve special dishes that we cook just for Christmas. In Ukraine, people celebrate Christmas three days. The first day they are get together and go caroling ,the next two days they visit relatives.Slavic culture is one of the diversified cultures in the world.I think it's interesting to know different cultures and their features.

I am from Belarus. Belarus is small country, but it has rich and strong traditions, diversity of styles and forms. The original culture was throughout centuries. These existed the original architectural and art schools. There created unique musical and literature works. All masterpieces are under state protection. They are stored in the collections of the largest Belorussian museums and libraries. Modern cultural life in Belarus is dynamic and diverse. There are a lot of art exhibitions, music, theater and film festivals. Main feature of the Belorussian culture is hospitality. Belorussian people are not rich people, but they are always ready to receive guests.

Each country has its rich and unique culture. You can see it for yourself, traveling to different countries if possible. Or simply use the Internet. The first difference we can see immediately is a different architecture of buildings, other clothing of people and their behavior in public places. Around us machines, equipment and automation of everyday routine processes. Each country has unfortunately has negative aspects in their culture. Typically, this is usually the human factor. This may be alcoholism, drugs, envy, hatred and contempt. We can not say that in one country and culture better than the other worse. When a person raised in one country, then surely he would know more about the values of their country than the other. I do not want to compare the negative and positive in different countries. Problems are the same everywhere. The only difference is that in some countries, one particular problem is more pronounced in comparison with other countries. And the rest: the sun and water, clouds and rain, heat and cold, love and hate, joy and sorrow, - the same.
