It is said that none of the British writers of our age enjoyed such popularity all over the world as Agatha Christie did. Her works were translated into many languages, and scores of films were made using them as script. The name of Agatha Christie is a synonym for high-class detective story, as well as Pele is a synonym of football, and Marilyn Monroe is an embodiment of feminity. According to Agatha Christie herself, she began to write just to imitate her sister whose stories had already been published in magazines. And suddenly Agatha Chrysie became famous as if by miracle. Having lost her father at an early age, the prospective writer did not receive even fairly good education. During the First World War she was a nurse, and then she studied pharmacology Twenty years later she worked in a military hospital at the beginning of the WWII. The favorite personages of the “queen of defective story” are the detective Hercules Poi rot and the sedate Miss Marple who carry out investigations in noisy London and delusive quiet countryside.

Do you like book, Poetry and Plays? Who is your favorite author? What kind of literature do you like to read? I have read and seen two of famous works of William Shakespeare such as; Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet. I like these drama. Though William Shakespeare is recognized as one of literature’s greatest influences, very little is actually known about him. Hamlet: Son of a murdered Danish king is my favorite character. In Romeo and Juliet the main character was Juliet, she was strong and intelligent. The Renaissance was a cultural movement that profoundly affected European intellectual life its influence affected literature, Renaissance Literature refers to the period in European literature, which began in Italy during the 14th century and spread around Europe through the 17th century. Prime examples of the writings of the time are the works of William Shakespeare, who was fundamental in the spread of Renaissance ideas. A classic literature usually expresses some artistic quality--an expression of life, truth, and beauty. I love the difficult old-English words and phrases such as Shakespeare’s works. Parvin Etesami may be called the greatest Persian poetess writing in the classical style. Modern literature itself refers to something "related to the present", in my opinion is their personalities change to fit the times, I don't think that there is a big difference; Nima Yushij is alsoconsidered the father of modern Persian poetry.

I enjoy Persian Romance and Classical Persian Literature. I don't have a favorite character, but I do have a favorite story. The story is from the Shanameh or "Book of Kings", which was written by the poet Ferdowsi. The book is actually a collection of many different stories, and my favorite story is the story of Sohrab and Rostam. Rostam was Sohrab's father, however the two never knew each other. Rostam and Sohrab were always fighting, and it was not until Rostam killed Sohrab that Rostam finally found out that Sohrab was his son. One reason I like the Shanameh is because it contains a lot of things about Persian history and culture. It is actually the most famous book in Persian history. When comparing this to modern literature one must look at the place and time. The stories in the Shanameh reflect the culture of Iranians living in ancient Iran. Modern literature obviously reflects the culture of today. To compare literature one also has to look at the social problems of the time the story was written. The Shahnameh took place in a time in Iran's history where the nation was under attack. So the story reflects the problems of Iran at that time. In the same way modern literature reflects the problems today which are completely different from the problems of the past.

Well, I have only read a book in my life and it was because I had to read it because it was my senior year in high school. The name of the book is “Dracula” and the author name is Bram Stoker. I actually enjoy reading that book because I heard of it before and a lot of friends told me that it was a good book to read. From what my teacher in high school told me about modern literature and classical literature is a refinement of literary tastes, practice in analysis and critical response, both oral and written. We actually did a lot of literary analysis. This is the only book that I have read completely in my hole life and like I said before I love this book because it really got my attention since the beginning thru the end.

Some of my favorite works of literature are Shakespeare's plays. I absolutely love the story of Romeo and Juliet. They are both fascinating characters. Juliet is, young, naive and disobedient, but she is also very honest, innocent, and full of love. It is a timeless story of love at first sight. I think that nothing can compare with classic literature. It seems that modern literature is very temporary and that it doesn't last even if it becomes popular for a short time. I love most classic literature and I don't think I can pick just one to be my favorite. Classic literature is the literature that will always last.

When I was still young I read both classical and modern literature.Nowadays I don't have a lot of time to read books.About five months ago I read one very interesting book. The name of the book is Sherlock Holmes Short Stories. The author of this book is Arthur Conan Doyle. Before he became a writer Conan Boyle studied medicine, and most of the characters in Sherlock Holmes are taken from one of his teachers,Joseph Bell. When patients came to see him,Bell was able to give them some information about their jobs, habits, and even their illnesses before they had said a word.He taught his students about the importance of small details, which is one of the skills needed by all great detectives.Sherlock Holmes is more interested in the activities of the brain and the use of faultless logic than in the imperfections of often illogical human emotion.Sherlock Holmes is the most famous detective in the world, and is probably the best-known fictional character in classic literature.I think classic literature is more successful than modern literature, but it also depends on people and what they like.Modern literature is more future-like and it has mostly robots and monsters. That is why I pick classic literature.

When i was in vietnam, i read a lot of children books. They had a lot of comic books and my parents would buy them for me. I liked reading comics because they were very funny and they had pictures too. But now that i grow up, a lot of books are hard for me to read because i dont understand english very well and i am learning. When i read Piano last year, the teacher let me understand the book good. Also, i read the book Twilight a little bit until the movie came out. It was very hard for me to read but i like the story of it. I enjoy reading mystery books because it keeps me wanting to read it. I do not like reading classical literature becuase it is always boring to me. It is on characters and i like reading more mystery books.

Many people enjoy different kinds of literature nowadays. Some people like to read romantic literature, but other likes an adventure, or actions. I like to read romantic literature, because I am the romantic man. In addition, I like literature about medieval times because at that time was a real love behind peoples. I read many of them, they was really interesting for me. Also, I saw many movies about it. But, most interesting for me is a poetry, I like it so much. My favorite writer is Alexander Pushkin. He is a famous Russian writer. I like all his poetry, but one of them feel to the soul. All his poetries are romantic, they make my feelings romantic to. When I was young, I liked to read the poems. I knew all of them, but now forgot many of them. So, if I open the book with my famous author, I enjoy of it. In my opinion, classical literature is a better, and interesting for reading than modern. Important, classical literature gives us examples from real love from medieval time. In conclusion, people are different in reading. Many of them likes to read modern literature, but many likes classic, and poetry.

Author Conan Doyle was a famous author. He was successful about detective story. He created a famous fictional character Sherlock Holmes in detective story. When I read Sherlock Holmes, I really like him because he was interested. Sherlock Holmes is very intelligent, calm. such as in any problem, He had many skills for observation, deductive reasoning. He did everything logically. He is always calm in any situation. That’s make him interesting. Today, I also read detective stories of modern literatures but they’re not interesting. I like classical literature, especially character Sherlock Holmes because when I read about him. I also learned from him many things interesting. He’s my favorite character.

I like to read like: mystery, classical and romance. I have read a classic recently that it is written ‘’ by Jack London’’ the story about three people travel a long distance in extremely cold weather at Yukon, Alaska and they get a lot of adventure in their trip. In the story there are three characters: Manson, Ruth, malamute kid and the dogs. Manson is my favorite character in story .Finally it is tragic death of Manson by accident and malamute kid and Ruth continue the journey I really enjoy the story. In comparison, modern literature and classic literature: the only difference is classic literature popular, loved and it reads by many people for many years. My favorite literature is classic.

I like to read classical literature. It is because they are filled with many scenes such as adventure, bravery, romance and hope. The favorite character that I read was King Author. I liked the story because it was written as a fairy tale. Victories and hope were portrayed into Excalibur, a magical sword from the lake fairy. Avalon was also described as a perfect dream land that King Author created. It partially presented historical truth. Also, the story gave plenty of space for children’s imagination. This was the best classical literature which I had read. Many more classical stories that i read were also interesting. In compare to modern literature, they are hard to be written as party of both friction and non-friction. It is because we know whether it is reality. In a result, modern literature is usually not interesting for me.

I like reading fiction. My favorite character is Don Quijote The la Mancha, he was a dreamer who was always chasing his dreams which were represented as windmills. He was accompanied by his friend Sancho Panza and his horse Dulcinea. They were loyal to him, they followed him every where he went.

It could not be a better time than quite evening in front of the fireplace reading an interesting novel. Russian classic literature is my favorite. Dostoevsky, Pushkin, Tolstoy, Chehov, Lermontov…“Century of classics” that is how we call the period of these great writers. I really enjoy reading them. One of my favorite authors is Mihail Bulgakov and his masterpiece The Master and Margarita. This novel is a great combination of the satire and realism, art and religion that features three story lines. The main story happens in Russia of the 1930’s. The devil comes to earth referred to as a Professor Woland with four of his assistants during the Holy Week. They use a black magic to play tricks on those who pass their way. A second story features the Master and his love Margarita, who seeks Woland’s help in being reunited with the master. A third story, which is presented as a novel written by the Master, describes the crucifixion of Yeshua Ha-Notsri, or Jesus Christ, by Pontius Pilate. Using his unbelievable talent Bulgakov satirizes the greed and corruption of Stalin’s Soviet Union.

The book I want to recommend is called Bridge of Terabitha; by Katherine Paterson it is a winner of the 1978 Newbery Medal. Bridge to Terabithia is a sensitive, emotionally honest novel about characters that rise above their weaknesses through emotional strength and generosity. The major characters Jesse and Leslie, Jesse the quiet and artistic and Leslie the free spirited. They are drawn together as friends because they both feel "different," and they come to respect and support each other's unique talents. Together they create an imaginary kingdom in the woods, called Terabithia. In Terabithia, where Jess is King and Leslie is the Queen, they feel strong and free. Terabithia might remind you of a favourite place in your own life a place where you feel safe and free to be whom you are just like Jess and Leslie. From a rating from 1- 10 I would give this book a 9, I am sure the people that enjoy adventure books will enjoy this book a lot just like I did.

I usually don’t read literature at all. However I do have my favorite book of all times, it’s called “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Brontë. When Jane returns to Thornfield, the houseguests have left. Rochester tells Jane he will soon marry Blanche, so she and Adèle will need to leave Thornfield. In the middle of this charade, Jane reveals her love for him, and the two end up engaged. Jane is happy to be marrying the man she loves, but during the month before the wedding she is plagued by strange dreams of a destroyed Thornfield and a wailing infant. Two nights before the wedding, a frightening, dark-haired woman enters her room and rips her wedding veil in two. Although Jane is certain this woman didn't look like Grace Poole, Rochester assures her it must have been the bizarre servant. The morning of the wedding finally arrives. Jane and Rochester stand at the altar, taking their vows, when suddenly a strange man announces there's an impediment to the marriage: Rochester is already married to a woman named Bertha Antoinetta Mason. Rochester rushes the wedding party back to Thornfield, where they find his insane and repulsive wife locked in a room on the third story. Grace Poole is the woman's keeper, but Bertha was responsible for the strange laughter and violence at Thornfield. Rochester tries to convince Jane to become his mistress and move with him to a pleasure villa in the south of France.

I don't read much, but there is a book that I enjoy and wish I read more often. That book is the Bible. The Bible is the best book out of all books. It is also the most read book in the world as of today with 3.9 billion copies. It is awesome. Jesus is my favorite in the Bible. When you read the bible, all your question become answered. Also, anytime you need advice, God will give you the best one through the Bible. It makes you a better person. You realize and get to know the purpose of life, the purpose of people. If you've never read this book, you're missing out on a lot. I also, sometimes, read magazines, though they are not books. I like magazines about cars and trucks. They are interesting. And I don't really care about modern and classical literature.
