Racial inequity and intolerance have undoubtedly been the most known forms of racial discrimination in the past century.
Countless numbers of conflicts and wars are based on racial discrimination and have claimed millions of lives. Rwanda’s racial genocide is clear proof of the fact that our human race has yet to muster up the courage to rise against such suffocating drawbacks and obstacles poised in the way of civilization.
The inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States has been a pivotal point in the history of this country and even the world. He is one of the most prominent African Americans to reach such a high degree of accomplishment in American society. However, some of the seemingly justifiable criticism of President Obama that we’ve heard of is fraught with racial discrimination.
Now, I’d like to know whether you’ve had any personal experience of being judged by your appearance, religion, belief, cultural and ethnic background, language and etc. Likewise, have you ever labeled anyone based upon his or her beliefs in comparison to social norms? How did you feel? How did they react?
