How did you get your name? Who chose your name? Does your name mean anything? Did you ever want to change your name? Did you have a nickname? What did your family call you and what did your friends call you? Do you have your father’s last name or your mother or both? Did your family celebrate the day that they chose your name? Do you think a person’s name can change his or her character? Were you ever proud of your name? Why? What names do you like best in men and in women? Why? What names you never liked? Why? If you have a son, what do you want to call him? If you have a daughter, what do you want to call her?

I got my name from my grandmother. My parents chose my name. My name does not mean anything. Once I wanted to change my name. Yes, I have a nickname-it is Tony. My family calls me Tony, my friends call me Tony. No, I do not have my father’s or Mother’s names. Yes, they celebrate my name day-it is January 17th.Yes, I think that a name can change a man character. Yes, once and even all the time I am proud of my name. I like names of men like Tudor, Austin, Tiesto, etc. I like women names like Claudia, Mariah, Petra, etc. They sound beautiful. I do not like names like Maria, Yanka, Rebeca and some Chinese names. They are terrible. If I have a son I want to call him Stefan. If I have a daughter I want to call her Elena.

My parents gave me my name. They never told me why they picked that name for me.I know that my name has a meaning, but I have never looked for it get. I think my parents named me Andrey because it is an Ukrainian name. They named all their kids with Ukrainian names.I personally like my name, so I have never wanted to change it. I also heve my fathers last name.In my culture, most of the people get fathers last names. I think aname can not change a character of a person. People;s gualities are genetic. therefore, names do not effect gualities.I like Ukrainian names maybe because I always have problems to remember all others. sometimes, people have a name that builds with two or more words. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIt is hard to remember.I name my children with Ukrainian names. I think that it is good because they have an Ukrainian last name, so it sounds nice.

My name is Yevgeniya. This is the name chose my parents. My name means a noble. As a child I hated my name and I wanted to change it, but now I like my name. My family and friends call me Jenia. I have my father's last name. I think that a person's name doesn’t affect his character. There are many descriptions of the character of my name, but they don’t same with my character. I like many women's names. Also, I like the man's name Kirill. When I'll have son, I'll call him Kirill, and if I'll have daughter, I'll call her Mary.

My parents chose my name. It doesn't mean anything but I always like my name. I don't want to change my name because it is the name that my parents chose for me. My saint name is my nickname. Anthony is my saint name. My family and my friends often call my real name. But sometimes, my parents call me that “big boy" because I'm the eldest in my family. I just have my father's last name. When I was born, my parents celebrated a small party and invited everyone in my relative. I think a person's name shouldn't change his or her character because that is real name that their parents chose for them. I always proud of my name because I think my parents want to choose the best name for me and whatever, I’ll never to change my name.

My parents give me name, it means " Angel". I never want to change my name, because I proud of name that parents chose for me. My family calls me "Angela", but friends call me "Angel". I have my father's last name, in our country most women when get married, got husband's last name, so woman last name will be dropped, and children's last name will be father's, too. My family celebrate birth day, so then we kind of celebrate and choosen name. I think person's name can change his or her character because most parents when chose name for their child they look for meaning, I never heard that parents wanted call their child with meaning of name like "mad person", or something else. I'm very proud of my name because a lot of people ever said that I look like Angel. I like this women's names, because of their meaning: Sonia - means "wisdom", Evelina - means "desired", and Leah - "antelope". In men's names I like: Sergey - means "honourable", Arkadij - means "blessed", and Konstantin - "confident and permanent". If I have a son I want to call him Sergey, and if I have a daughter - Evelina.

My name is Christopher Chang. I got my name from my parents, my dad really liked the name and named me after saint Christopher. No, I don’t want to change me name since my parents chose it and I like it. Sometimes people call me Chris, which is short for my full name. I have my father’s last name, Chang. No, my parents don’t celebrate the day they chose my name. I’m not sure if it can change a person but I am proud of my name. All the names from the bible all sound nice to me. I don’t like crazy sounding names though. If I have children, then I will decide names for them when they are born.

In Romania, the Orthodox tradition requires that the newborn baby have to be named by a Godfather. So, this is what happened to me. Yes, my name means something. My name is Aur ica . Aur means gold. Aurica means gold girl. I liked my name and I never thought to change it. About the last name, of course I had the same last name as my parents, but after I got married I took my husband's last name. I do not know if a person's name has any influence on his destiny or to his character, I don’t think so, but who knows. I just want to say that in Romania as in other countries, some parents give their kids weird names. I think that parents should be more responsible when they choose the names for their children. I have three children, all boys, and I gave each of them two different first names, so that they can choose which one to use. So choosing a baby name is important, so it must be a responsible and intelligent choice. Children should not be ashamed or embarrassed by their names. Moreover, they should be proud and feel good with their names.

One of the things that all people and places have in common is "Names". Most people have some idea of their name come from.People's names influence the outcomes in their lives. I get my name from family. My name is "Mathewos" ( Matthew in Hebrew). It mean 'gift of the Lord or God'. I didn't ever want to change my name. I have a nickname. My family call me "Matho" ,and my friend call me "Mathey" or "Mathewos". I have my father's last nave ,but I don't have my mother's last name. My family didn't celebrate the day that they chose my name. I think most of time a person's name can change his or her character.I ever proud of my name ,because it's written in the Holy Bible. The name I like in men "Elias" mean 'The Lord is my God', and in women "Abigia" mean 'Her father's joy or fountain of joy', I like this name because it have powerful meaning.I never liked names are Mathewos,Paul.Elsa,David,Samuel and Ruth, because there name have had historical meaning. If I have a son, I want to call him Samuel or Daniel or Elias. If I have a daughter,I want to call her Aster or Anna.

My parents named me after a sister of mine with the same name passed away as an infant. My dad is the person that chooses my name, Juanita because that is also my mom’s name, and in Mexico it is common for girls to have the same name as their mothers. I was named after a virgin in San Juan De Los Lagos in Guanajuato, Mexico. When I became a US citizen, I changed my name to Johanna and my last name, is my husbands surname. I have never had a nickname. We celebrate San Juan de los Lagos on June twenty-fourth each year in Mexico. I do not have a preference on favorite names for men or women. The names that I choose for my daughter and son, I am very fond of.

My parents named me after my grandfather well actually my mom did. I dont know what my name stands for I just go along with it. You dont really hear my name around, its very unusual for me to meet someone with my name. Im not worried about my name because not to many people go for my real name but instead they go for my nickname. Everyone calls me "Chivo" it means goat but i never knew why? Maybe because of soccer but ever since i started playing they gave me that nickname. If I have a son ill call him Eric, Roberto or Arturo and if I have a daughter ill call her Mary or Marilyn.

When I was born my father give me a name LEE. LEE is one of Hmong last name. When I got that name, I was very sick on that time so my father went to see a shaman. He said my name is not good for me. So he gave the name LOR to me. When I had this name every thing changed. I’m not sick, I have a healthy body. LOR means a strong and pulls bad thing out of a life. So I think this name is very good for me. I don’t want to change my name because it is a good name and I very proud on this name. In my family and friends call me LOR because I don’t have a nickname. In my culture every body has their father’s last name. we don’t have our mother’s last name. I have my father’s last name HER. It is very important in my culture when someone has a new name. In my culture parent or grandparent and shaman can choose a good name for a kid. But we always use two chickens and one egg to do on our culture. We always celebrate for the good of a new name. And when some names are not good for a person, we always change those names to new names. A boy or a girl does not matter to me. I always choose a good name for him or her. In my opinion, if I give a good meaning name to my kids, then when they grow up, they will be happy with their name.
