Do we celebrate Easter in your country? How do you celebrate it? Do you have any special family traditions? Do you know the meaning of Easter? Do you think Easter is an important holiday? Why or why not? What is the Sunday before Easter called? What is it remembering? What is the Friday before Easter called? What is it remembering? How do you think the Easter bunny and hiding colored eggs came to be part of the celebration of Easter? Do you think it is wrong to associate religious holidays with other types of things, like Easter and the bunny?

In my country a lot of people celebrate Easter. Easter is always on Sunday. Christians believe, according to Scriptue, that Jesus came back to life, or was raised from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucificton is commemorated on Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter. Through his death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus paid the penalty, for sin thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus. So the Friday before Easter calls"Good Friday". The Thursday before Easter calls "Holy Thursday".Some Christian denominations,Holy Thursday commemorates the last supper when Jesus shared the passover meal with his disciples on the night before he was crucified. In my opinion the Easter Bunny is not a part of Easter.

In Honduras, we call it semana santa "holy week". People don't eat meat during semana santa. They go for a walk to the beach as a family. In my opinion, the easter bunny has nothing to do with easter, because it's supposed to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Easter is important for us for the same reason I mentioned before.

Probably Christian people celebrate Easter in my country, but I have never heard about it since last week. I know yesterday was Easter in the U.S. people were so excited about it and I heard a lot about Easter Bunny these days. There are a lot of colored ages in the stores. Somebody told me that people I n the U.S have tradition to hide eggs under the ground and kids are going to look for them. It would be fun for kids and I’m sure that they like it. I heard that this is a day that people believe Jesus came back to life after dead and it’s a religion holiday. People call the last Friday before Easter “Good Friday” and they do some special work that day.

In my country we do celebrate Easter. The meaning of Easter is that Jesus has went to heaven, back to his father after he was on the cross. In my family we do have a tradition. We take decorated eggs and have contests of which eggs are stronger. We also buy a Russian cake that is purposely made for Easter decorations on the table. Easter is an important holiday. The Sunday before Easter is called “Palm Sunday” because it celebrates Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem for the Jewish festival of Passover .People waved palm branches to greet Jesus. Also they spread the branches on the road and shouted “Hosanna!” which means “save us now!” The Friday before Easter is called the “Holy Friday.” It remembers the day that Jesus was crucified on the cross. I don’t think its wrong to associate things for religious holidays; it’s just fun and games, as well as decorations.

Yes, in my country celebrate Easter. Most people bake Easter cakes and painted eggs in different colors. A in sundays go to the cemetery to honor deceased relatives. But the meaning and significance of Easter is not in it! Easter means that Jesus after death on the cross of Calvary is risen! Friday before Easter Jesus was crucified. And on Saturday, he was in the tomb on the third day (ie Sunday), he is risen! My whole family go to church on Easter and there we praise the risen Jesus. Of course, neither rabbit nor dyed eggs for Easter cakes have no relation to Easter. It's just tradition.

Yes we do celebrate Easter in my native country. I don't really know is it deferent than here. Usually on the Easter all family gets together, we cook a lot of food, clean inside of a house and outside of it really good. Spend so much time with family what is always great thing to do. The only deferents I know it's that we celebrate Easter for three days, so every Monday after Easter everybody has day off. We go back to work on Tuesday but its still a holiday. And another thing is we don't have Easter bunny and hiding eggs. And of course It's really important holiday for me and for my family.

NO,we don't celebrate Easter in our country.I know that Easter was the one of festival in US.We have special tradition in our family that is Dashain.Dashain is the longest and the most important festival.Generally dashain falls in late September to mid October.Right after the end of the monsoon season in Nepal. It is a day of victory over demons. Tihar is another important festival of our country. The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ's victory over death,His resurrection symbolize the eternal life that is granted all who believe in him.Yes i think Easter is an important holiday because it celebrated in early spring, it honored the Pagan Saxon goddess Easter. When the early missionaries converted the Saxons Christianity the holiday since it fell around the same time as the traditional memorial of Christ's resurrection from the death. The Sunday before Easter is called Palm Sunday and the Friday before Easter is called good Friday .No I don't think it is wrong to associate religious holidays with other types of thing like Easter and the Bunny.

Yes. We always do celebrate Easter in my native country. We started to prepere for this holiday week. For exemple, we do cleaning in the house and around it. We make a lot of different food and baked cakes. Tried examples with family and friends. On Thursday we went to church and took part in the Lord's Supper. On Sunday day of Easter we went to church at six o'closk in the morning as Jesus rose early in the morning. Friday befor Easter Jesus was crucified on the cross. For me this holiday was and still is very important . In America I want to keep the traditions of my family and send my children . My opinion bunny and eggs have nothing to do with Easter.
