In my country people do celebrate Easter. They go to church and bring Easter eggs, Easter bread, and other food for the consecration of a priest. All of this happens from Saturday. On Sunday morning, people come to visit their relatives and friends. Easter is a religious holiday. It means that on this day, the resurrection of Jesus Christ happens. That is why the Christian people all around the world celebrate this holiday. Easter is one of the most important holidays for Christians just like Christmas, because Easter is Jesus's second birth. Christmas resembles Easter. We celebrate it just like all of the other Christians do.

Easter in Russia is one most important Russian holidays. The Russian church celebrates Easter according to the Orthodox calendar. Russians celebrate Easter with decorated eggs and special foods- Russian Easter bread and customs. Russian people go to the service in church. Which point bells are rung and the priest says,"Christ is risen!". The congregation replies with,"He is truly risen!". I believe in Jesus Chris and I like Easter holiday. Jesus Christ is alive!!!

Easter is celebrated in many different ways in many different countries. In my counter, people dance on Easter day to win prize cakes. They eat eggs at dawn on Easter to break the long fast of Lent. In Church officials invite beggars inside, wash their feet and give them gifts in memory of Jesus who washed his disciples' feet. At noon on that day before Easter, thousands of people fill the streets. They beat, hang and burn images of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus. In my counter have a spring festival called Holi. Holi is a happy time when people who belong to the Hindu religion remember the story of how the god, Krishna appeared, dancing and playing the flute. People make special food, and visit each other, tasting the food. It is the custom for the owner of the house to mark the guests' foreheads with coloured powder.

Yes in my country we celebrate Easter. Most people don't work for that weekend. They go to church with their families and they eat special food. This is when Jesus Christ went to the cross and He resurrected and He lived. Yes I think Easter is more important than Christmas because on Christmas Jesus Christ was born, but in Easter He resurrected. Most people do not know what the celebration is. They take time for fun, but they forget it is time for Jesus Christ resurrection. Another celebration is Christmas when Jesus Christ was born. Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is important to the people because on Friday we go to the church and we have a special services. Sunday morning we start at six am. The first service ends at eight am. The second service starts at one pm. I like Easter holiday because Jesus Christ is alive!!

In my country we celebrate Easter Sunday, but not like in this country. Salvadorian celebrate a week before Easter Sunday. It’s called the holy week. During a holy week procession are help everywhere in the country, with images of Jesus carried out, and daily religious services. People have vacations. Children are out of school and they have opportunity to enjoy beaches with their parents. Others have the opportunity to visit relatives. We eat special foods like fish dumplings in red sauce with rice and handmade tortillas, seafood soup. Fruits of the season like mangos, watermelon, and cantaloupe, pineapple. And special dessert called torrejas with sugar cane honey; it’s like a French toast. Easter Sunday concluded with a special mass and big procession. For me the meaning of Easter it’s when Jesus my Lord came back to life after three day of dead. The most people in my culture considered Easter Sunday very important religious celebration because Jesus alive.

Easter is very important holiday in my country. We start to celebrate on Thursday; Green Thursday, Big Friday, White Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Each day is presenting different meaning. During these days people go to the church and visit their families. From all of these days the Monday is the most important from all, single boys visit single girls and they pour cold water on the girls, this is done so the girls would be healthy for the whole year.

Yes, in my country we celebrate Easter. In my country Catholics don't eat meat and listen to music during the week of Easter. It is a very important tine for us because Easter day is when Jesus resurrects. Easter day we attend mass and we have a day at the park. We have a feast of food because we are so happy.

In my country we do not celebrate Easter, and I did not know or heard about Easter until I immigrated to United State. I personally do not know the meaning of Easter, but what I know from watching TV. After talking to people I learned that Easter is an important holiday in United States, because it is celebrated by Christian who believe in Easter as a religious holiday, and is also celebrated by non-Christian as a fun holiday that brings friend and family together to celebrate the beauty of spring and to have fun with their children hunting for colored eggs sometimes filled with candy. Yes most people consider Easter time a religious celebration because Christian in the United State believes that Eater is related to the time after Jesus was crucified and buried. After some days they found out that his grave was opened and Jesus was not in the grave but he had resurrected up to heaven; therefore every year Christian’s remember that time and they celebrate in recognition to Jesus’s miracle. In my country we don’t have any holiday like Easter. Muslims celebrate two religious holidays they are called Eid. One Eid is celebrated after the month of fasting for Ramadan, and the second is celebrated after performing pilgrimage to Makah Haj, and neither one of them is related to the birth or death of our beloved prophet.
