You thank God for all he has given us. If we celebrate Thanksgiving, of all we help cook dinner, but in our family we do not like the turkey and cooked chicken, started eating at 8 pm. I think people celebrate Thanksgiving to thank everyone for all the help given to God. On Thanksgiving day we sat down to eat at 8:00 PM. On the day of thanksgiving before the meal each thanks, after dinner we make fun games. This day is fun for the whole family.

That is the day I give thanks for all you have. If we celebrate Thanksgiving. We gather the whole family and live. The foods are chicken, ham and dessert. My food favorite Thanksgiving is chicken. Cook all women. Do not eat turkey because some are allergic. Star at 7 pm for dinner. Why give thanks to God for all the things they have and what has helped them, I believe that. At 7 pm we sat down to eat. Having the whole family gathered there for about as we help each other.

First Thanksgiving celebrated pilgrims who came to America. They were straggling in America because they did not have enough food. American Indians helped pilgrims to survive; they teach them how to hunt turkey. Pilgrims were thanks God and Indians and next year pilgrims made big party for Indians.

Thanksgiving is a happy holiday on the fourth Thursday of each November. Americans of all religions celebrate this holiday with big dinners and family reunions. It is a time to remember all the good things in life and to be thankful. Turkey is a traditional Thanksgiving food. In Russia we don't celebrate Thanksgiving .I don’t know anything about Thanksgiving before I came to United States, but in college teacher told me about this holiday. This holiday was founded by the Pilgrims. They were a group of English settlers who came to Massachusetts in 1620. The Pilgrims came to America because they wanted religious freedom. Their first winter was difficult, and many of the Pilgrims died. But the following year, the corn harvest was good. And there was celebration for three days. That was the first Thanksgiving. Every Thanksgiving Macy's department store organizes a parade in New York City. In the parade there are balloons of popular cartoon characters, famous television stars, and bands from all over the United States. Each year many people watch parade or college football games on television.

Thanksgiving is one of America’s most treasured holidays and traditions. While there are some constants in the way we observe the day, it can mean different things to different people. The American Thanksgiving holiday began as a feast in the early days of the American colonies almost 400 years ago. In 1620, a boat filled with more than 100 people sailed across the Atlantic Ocean from England to settle in the New World. This religious group had begun to question the beliefs of the Church of England and they wanted to separate from it. The pilgrims settled in what is now the state of Massachusetts, and their first winter in the New World was difficult. They had arrived too late to grow any crops, and without fresh food, half the colonist died from diseases which the contracted on the voyage from England. The following spring the Iroquois Indians befriended the pilgrims and taught them how to grow corn, something the colonist never had done before. They showed them other crops to grow in the unfamiliar soil and how to hunt and fish. In the autumn of 1621, plentiful crops of corn, barley, beans and pumpkins were harvested. The colonists had much to be thankful for, so a feast was planned. They inv Take a few private moments on Thanksgiving to reflect upon these people, and make it a point to let them know that you are thankful for them. George Washington suggested the date November 26 as Thanksgiving Day and then in 1863, at the end of the long civil war, Abraham Lincoln asked all Americans to set aside the last Thursday in November as a day of thanksgiving. Experts say there is nothing wrong with allowing oneself to experience the feelings of sadness and loss. For people in the retail business, the day after Thanksgiving represents the busiest shopping day of the year. But don’t let it pass without telling the people who you love and who love you that you are thankful for them. For most of our lives, the holidays are symbolized by time spent with the people to whom we are closest. Bargain hunters set their alarms to go off before the crack of dawn, and then flock to the large stores in what has become an incredible ritual. In following years, many of the original colonists celebrated the autumn harvest with a feast of thanks. The colonists had learned how to cook cranberries and different kinds of corn and squash dishes from the Indians. And if you know someone who will be spending Thanksgiving and other holidays alone, reach out in some way so that person knows he or she is not alone. After the United States became an independent country, Congress recommended one yearly day of thanksgiving for the whole nation to celebrate. The Indians brought deer to roast with the turkeys and other wild game offered by the colonists. Thanksgiving started as a way to celebrate a bountiful harvest. Sometimes giving thanks may seem a bit difficult under those circumstances.

Thanksgiving Day, is a holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. It has officially been an annual tradition since 1863, when, during the civil war, president Abraham Lincoln, proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens", to be celebrated on Thursday, November 26. As a Federal and popular holiday in the U.S. We don't celebrate in this day in my country. My wife cooks the turkey she's very professional with food. We start eating at evening 7:00pm. But here we celebrate as other American people we sit together to thank the god about everything he gives us.

The modern Thanksgiving holiday traces its origins from a 1621 celebration at the Plymouth Plantation, where the Plymouth settlers held a harvest feast after a successful growing season. This was continued in later years, first as an impromptu religious observance, and later as a civil tradition. Before I came to the USA I have never heard about "Thanksgiving day". I know some traditions for thanksgiving day. People cook turkey, bake pumpkin pie, and cook cranberry sauce. Thanksgiving day is one of the famous holidays in the USA, like Christmas and New Year.

Thanksgiving is a day when people give thanks to God for all that they have. In my country, people didn't exactly celebrate Thanksgiving because it wasn't a national holiday. But in village churches everyone came together to celebrate the harvest. We chose one Sunday in the fall and celebrated. We brought many kinds of fruits and vegetables to the church, thanked God, prayed, and sang. After that we had a big dinner. My favorite Thanksgiving food is smoked turkey. In my home I cook Thanksgiving dinner. I put salt and spices on turkey, and leave at room temperature for a few hours. Then I put rice and vegetables inside the turkey and seal it in a bag. I put it in the oven for four hours. We eat Thanksgiving dinner around 5:00 p.m. Usually my family visits to my brother's house and celebrate Thanksgiving together, with out relatives. We talk to each other about our life, and our children play many games.

We do not celebrate thanksgiving in Dominican Republic. My family started celebration Thanksgiving until we move here to the US; we adopted this tradition like ours. We get together in my aunt’s house and we all bring a dish and we share. We usually eat around 6 or 7 pm, so a little later than what they are used to here. My aunt cooks very good and she makes the turkey and is so good, we also make ham, potatoes, vegetables, salads, desserts and pumpkin pie.
