Thanksgiving is the official holiday in the U.S.Now a days American people and many immigrants celebrate Thanksgiving on last Thursday of November . In 1960 Pilgrims came to the U.S. to start a new life . During the firs winter many of them died ,but the native Indians taught them how to survive and how to grow corn .After a terrible winter Pilgrims and Indians celebrated a first Thanksgiving . They thanked God for every thing . After that America celebrates Thanksgiving every year . In my country we have very similar holiday when we thank God for every thing we have . The main point is a food . We decorate our church with all different kinds of food and many families get together . We are celebrating this holiday in October every year . Now we are celebrating Thanksgiving too. Our family is big , so each family make some kind of food ,but the main food is turkey . For example ,if I make turkey ,firs of all I marinade it for one day in salted water with few gloves of garlic , some black pepper , and little lemon juice . After that, I spread some mayonnaise mixed with two quashed gloves of garlic ,some ground black pepper , little salt , and bake it for about 4 to 5 hours in a baking bag . I think some people celebrate Thanksgiving just to have some fun or get together with family ,but many people still thank God for every thing they have . Thanksgiving is a family holiday for sure , because our family is the most important thing that we have in the world . We can thank to God with all our lovelies and share our happiness with each other . For me it is necessary to be thankful for your life and all good things that we have , so Thanksgiving is a very important holiday .

I know that is a celebration based in the history between the Native Americans and the England when they arrived to the Americas. In the first winter many of the England colonizers died after that and the Native Americans help to survivors, so in the first harvest the England colonizers decided to share their harvest in a dinner with the Native Americans. In my country we don’t celebrate this holiday. I don’t have favorite Thanksgiving food and I don’t want to celebrate Thanksgiving because I don’t share that idea, but I respect the tradition of others.

I am not sure about the complete story of Thanksgiving. I have heard some stories that when immigrants came to US, Americans teach them how to grow food and then immigrants make a party and invite Americans to thank them. We don't have anything similar in our country. My favorite Thanksgiving food is cranberries next to turkey. My sister-in-law bakes the turkey. For baking turkey you stuff it first, then you wrap it in foil and put it on oven for 12 hours, after 12 hours you unwrap it and wait a few minutes so it will cool down and finally it's ready to be served. I think people celebrate Thanksgiving in order to gather around with friends and families they haven't seen for a while and also to thank god. Some Thanksgiving traditions are baking turkey, gathering around with families and eating pumpkin pies. I think Thanksgiving is a family holiday because it's better with family around you. Thanksgiving is a time for me that makes our family gather around and have a good time like old days.

The first Thanksgiving was a way for the Pilgrims to thank God and the Indians who helped them to survive the tough year. Originally the holiday had a religious significance. Nowadays, it is more about food and beer, and watching football. Thanksgiving has also been commercialized. For instance, people spend money on travel and shopping.

I know Thanksgiving was the party when the immigrants invited the native Americans to a party in response to their help with adapting to America. But in the end the whole party ends up with native Americans being cruel with African Americans. There are no holidays similar to Thanksgiving in Iran. My favorite Thanksgiving food is the turkey leg and also mash potato. My sister-in-law cooks the Thanksgiving dinner in our home. After cleaning the turkey and stuffing it you wrap it with foil and you bake it in the oven for twelve hours. People celebrate Thanksgiving because it's a tradition and also it's the only day every single person in the family does not have work or school and they can gather around. Some Thanksgiving traditions are going to some family memnber's house and eat turkey, mash potato, and all the other side dishes that come along with the turkey. Thanksgiving is a family holiday because back then nobody celebrated Thanksgiving alone. Thanksgiving doesn't mean anything special to me because native Americans or the immigrants were not my ancestors but yet still, we are having 18 people at our house for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays of American. Thanksgiving began in 1863 by President Lincoln. In my country, we have the same holiday like thanksgiving is Lunar New Year. Thanksgiving is holiday for family to crowd at home. Usually, women cook the food and men clean up dishes after the meal. My favorite food at thanksgiving is turkey. My mother prepared turkey the day before thanksgiving and put turkey into a bog box with lemonade, apple juice, etc. then my mother barbecue turkey and we enjoy it. People should celebrate thanksgiving for good fortune. Until I came to the U.S, thanksgiving means very special to me. This is the time for family reunion, or for holidays. As for me, I enjoy the warm and cozy atmosphere of thanksgiving when all members of family gather and talk together.

I think Thanksgiving family celebration. Thanksgiving Day was a holiday express thanks and gratitude to God, as well as family and friends for their material well-being and good attitude. But we do not often celebrate it with family. My favorite dish is the turkey. My mom cooks dinner on Thanksgiving Day. In my country the same celebrate this holiday. At Thanksgiving we get together with friends at a restaurant.

Thanksgiving Day is a holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada. Thanksgiving is celebrated each year on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Thanksgiving in Canada falls on the same day as Columbus Day in the United States. Because of the longstanding traditions of the holiday, the celebration often extends to the weekend that falls closest to the day it is celebrated. In my country and many countries didn’t have thanksgiving, but we have another holiday. Like Eid al Fatter and Eid al Haj. This religious holidays. the Eid al Fatter came after Ramadan . we have some preparation, such as buy new clothes, cleaning the house, but gifts for kids, slaughter of sheep, biscuit making. All of these things before Eid.. always the families in Eid cook dish its name Barany with Lamb. This favorite food in Eid. Always we ate this food in launch. The people in my country and other countries have traditions, like visit families with each other, visit the cemetery. Often these holidays for families, because families gathered. Finally all the people in this world have their own events.

Thanksgiving is a very big and great holiday. Thanksgiving began in 1863 in USA and many countries have the same holiday. Thanksgiving is a very important holiday for America and for me too. I really like and respect this holiday. I like when all big family gets together. Everyone brings some kind of food but the main dish is turkey. My mother cooks turkey; she has a special recipe how to cook a turkey. First step is to marinade turkey for one day in salt, garlic, onion, black pepper, lemon juice and mayonnaise. Second step is stuffed with rice and smoked plums. When your turkey is stuffed you can bake it. Baking is a very important step because usually turkey is overcook and it’s dry. Put turkey into the oven and bake it for 7 hours on 350 degrees. Bake until the skin is a golden color. It is very moist and delicious. The main idea of this holiday it’s to say thanks to God for everything that He gives us and the biggest tradition of this holiday is to have dinner with all of your family. In my country we have very similar holiday when we thanks God for life, house, food and everything that He give us. We decorate our church with many different kinds of fruits and vegetable. Every family gets together and thanks God. For me it is very important to be thankful and I am happy that we have Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanksgiving is a very important date for U.S. is when the family meets a very special dinner to give thanks for all things in life .. In my country on December 31st , before finishing the year the family meets with a special dinner and before the end of year give thanks everyone for the year and will welcome the new year. In thanksgiving the women of the family cook. My daughter cooking meat, my other daughter cooking the vegetables, my daughter in law pumpkin pie and apple pie and I cook the turkey with a mixture of apples, nuts, bread and spices. I think people celebrate Thanksgiving by tradition, is a unique time of year to meet the family.

Last year my friend invited me to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family. They made a very nice celebration. In my country we didn't celebrate in Thanksgiving. We had to main religious celebration in my country. We called it Eid. We did a special kind of pastries in that day and also my mother cooked and all the families did very delicious dishes for lunch because families visited each others in Eid. We celebrate those days because our religion told us to do and it was a traditional habit from the old days till now. Eid was a family holiday because all the family sat together and visited other families and enjoyed their time. Sometime they went to parties and met friends. Eid was very happy days to the family. We enjoy it and spend a good time with the family and friends.

Thanksgiving Day has been an annual holiday in the United States since 1863. Not everyone sees Thanksgiving Day as a cause for celebration. Each year since 1970, a group of Native Americans and their supporters have staged a protest for a National Day of Mourning at Plymouth Rock in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Thanksgiving Day...Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal. The meal often includes a turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin pie, and vegetables. Thanksgiving Day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they have.Yes we celebrate thanksgiving in my country but we dont celebrate it with turkey.I dont have a favorite dish for thanksgiving.Yes I think that thanksgiving is a family holiday.

Thanksgiving is a day to thank God for everything he has given us. Americans celebrate this day every year on last Thursday of November. Some people believe that thanksgiving was originated by pilgrims, however they also believe that pilgrims resulted in killing the native Indians. My favorite food for thanksgiving is Turkey. Once I researched why people eat Turkey on Thanksgiving and I found that since Turkey is the biggest eatable bird, people eat it. I am not sure if we have a similar occasion in my country, however throughout the year; we have several occasions that family and relative gather and celebrate. Usually we spend thanksgiving at my brother’s house and my sister in law makes the Turkey. I also make other items to put on the tables. Almost every one contributes to this occasion in my family.

Many Americans think of Thanksgiving as a wonderful time to celebrate getting out of school for a long weekend, and eating a great dinner. It was President Abraham Lincoln who declared Thanksgiving an annual national holiday as one more way to unite the North and the South after the War.The term thanksgiving is from the English translation of the Bible, where it means giving thanks to God. Thanksgiving in colonial times involved giving thanks to God for good things and important events. In my country we celebrate thanksgiving the same as here except that we dont celebrate it with turkey.I think that thanksgiving is a family holiday.People just gather with their families and celebrate thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is the official holiday in U.S. This holiday is celebrated since when the Pilgrims thanked the Indians for that they helped the settlers with food. Also, the Indians have shown how to grow corn. In my country there is a similar celebration of the Harvest, when farmers thank God for the harvest. My favorite Thanksgiving food is a turkey. I usually cook the turkey, and my wife cooks other dishes. I cook the turkey with a garlic, a honey sauce, and with the apples inside. People like to celebrate Thanksgiving because it's a good tradition to thank each other. Especially yours relatives, as in everyday life we often forget.

Thanksgiving is a national holiday. This holiday started long time ago. In 1620 the Plymouth colonists and Wamparoag Indian started an autumn harvest feast that is knowledge today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. Far more than two centuries, day of Thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and stated. It was not until 1863 in the midst of the civil war that president Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving day to be held each November. There is no holiday similar to Thanksgiving in our country. When I came to U.S.A., I started celebrating Thanksgiving. We invite our close relatives. All of my family members are vegetarian so we only cook vegetarian food on Thanksgiving like corn, and mashed potatoes with gravy. We also cook Indian food for Thanksgiving. I think Thanksgiving is a holiday when families get together and thank God for everything. Everyone is very busy with work and problems and Thanksgiving give us the chance to spend time with family and friends. This is reason everyone call Thanksgiving a family holiday. Thanksgiving means good time with family while having a lot of good food for dinner.

I do not know much about Thanksgiving, because I have not studied history. All I know, this is all hearsay from friends and acquaintances. In our country there are many other holidays, but does not. In honor of the holiday, my wife always prepares a turkey by recipe on how our family prepares, and much more. And also she makes a lot of different salads. I think that today many people celebrate this holiday traditionally. We can not feel like those people who first celebrated this holiday.

For me the meaning of Thanksgiving is to give thanks to our God for all the blessings. Here in United States is a celebration for the peace treaty between the pilgrims and the natives. In my town in Mexico we do not have a similar holiday, however, we do celebrate Thanksgiving since my town is located by the USA border. Since we are very closed to the border, we have adopted many USA traditions. My favorite Thanksgiving foods are the desserts. My wife usually cooks the turkey and the rest of the family prepares the side dishes. Thanksgiving is a good way to get together with family and friends.
